Did You Miss It?

For those of you who were able to attend the General RS broadcast Saturday, I'm sure you'll agree it was very inspiring. It was great to see so many sisters there. Sister Beck, the General RS President implemented a few changes in the way we'll be doing things. You can listen to this broadcast here.

Well, That Makes it Easy

Donna H. has reserved the canner and pouch sealer from the cannery and she has so graciously invited anyone who wants to build their food storage to come to her house Oct 13 or 14 to use it. Prices are down right now for many items at the cannery so now is the time to do this! If you have never done this before, it is a fun and simple process. Besides the Church cannery has the BEST hot cocoa! (I'm running low so count me in Donna.)

If you have any questions, please contact Donna H.

Feeling Creative?

Super Saturday is November 7. Check the Super Saturday blog for pictures and information on projects and classes being offered.

Progressive Dinner

It's time for one of my favorite activities! Lots of great friends and lots of great food--who wouldn't love it? The annual progressive dinner is this Wedsnesday at 6 PM. We'll be meeting at Macie's house for appetizers, Jamie P.'s for the main dish, then we'll continue on to Stacey's for dessert. If you haven't signed up yet, email us as to which of these things you'd like to bring. There will be no childcare provided. Babes in arms okay.

Feel free to bring a friend!

Twenty-third Already?!

Yup, the month is winding down. Have you done your visiting teaching yet? Make sure they are aware of our upcoming activities. I keep thinking about the talk our wonderful bishop gave on Sunday. We are a family. A ward family. Let's watch out for each other.

General RS Broadcast

It's that time again. I love this broadcast! Remember when President Uchtdorf gave that great talk about creating last year? I'll never forget that. While listening to it, I was cutting out fabric to make pajama bottoms for my kids. Which I totally butchered. So our masterpieces may not always be noteworthy but hey, my kids still wear those pjs!

Join us Saturday at 5 PM at the church to hear a member of the First Presidency along with our Relief Society general presidency address us. There will be fruit and dessert in the cultural hall to follow.
Oh, I forgot to mention. If needed, there is childcare available. Please remember the children must be a minimum of 18 months old.

Deployed Spouses Fireside

For those of you who are dealing with or about to deal with a deployment there is a fireside this Sunday night at 6 PM in the Primary room. We'll be hearing from three fabulous speakers and finding ways to deal with the challenges brought by a deployment.

As if that's not enough, there's childcare AND dessert! See you there!

Photo Group

Due to some confusion last month, we'll be reviewing Chapters 5 & 6 again for photo group. This time it will be held at Annette A.'s house at 7 PM on Thursday. Thank you Annette for hosting.

Bring your camera and book if you have it. If you didn't get a chance to read the assignment, come anyway! There's always stuff to learn:)

The deployed spouses group will be meeting this Wednesday at 4:30 at the Clarkdale Community Center. Bring a jar per child, lots of candy, stickers and ribbon, etc. to decorate jars! Hope to see you there.

Thanksgiving Plans?

For those of you with a deployed spouse, Trina W. has invited you to join her at one of the community centers on post for Thanksgiving Dinner. Please contact her if you are interested.

Ward "No Talent" Night

It's this Friday! Are you ready? It's going to be hilarious! The show starts at 7 PM but arrive a little early to get some fun treats and a good seat.

Playgroup

With school in session, our weekly field trips have come to a halt. Unless otherwise posted, playgroup will be at Raindrops and Rainbows on post unless of course we have good weather in which case it will be at the park down the street from there. As always, playgroup is on Thursdays at 11 AM.

If we find an inexpensive or particularly fun outing, we'll post it. If you have any fun ideas, please contact Alexis N.

Book Group

It's time again for Book Group. This month's book is Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. We'll be meeting at Rachel W.'s house at 7:30 PM on Wednesday. Yes, I did say Wednesday. We are switching due to the change in youth night.

If you haven't read the book yet, there are several copies available amongst the sisters. Email us if you would like to read it. If you don't get a chance, come anyway! It's a great opportunity to just get together as sisters.

See you there!

Ward "No Talent" Night

It's coming up! If you have a skit, lip sync, song, mime, comedy routine, or interpretive dance that you're willing to share, we'd love to see it! There is a three minute limit. Contact Priscilla by Sunday, Sept 13 to get your act on the list.

Oh Yeah, Playgroup

Sorry ladies. I just realized I hadn't posted anything about playgroup this week. Since we are still enjoying some unexpected sunshine, we'll meet at the park just down the street from Raindrops and Rainbows Thursday at 11:00 AM. Go to North Fort, turn right at the light then veer left at the fork. You'll pass Raindrops and Rainbows. Follow through the 4-way stop and you'll see the park.
