Gingerbread Houses
That's what we're making at our next cooking group on Wednesday, December 2 at 7 PM at Amy's house. My first time making a gingerbread house from scratch I was sure I was going to mess it up but it was much easier than I thought. And to be able to chat with other sisters while decorating your house the way you want is so much fun. The recipe and further info can be found here. If you don't already have a pattern, pick one up for a house or sleigh from me (Heather R.) or Alexis N. We will have a some extras made so if you don't get the chance to bake some gingerbread...and enjoy the delicious aroma in your home while doing so, come anyway! Bring a bag of candy to share...for decorating...but I'm not promising I won't eat any.

Your Attendance is Kneaded
Boo! Bad post title! But don't let that stop you from coming to cooking group this Wednesday at Tara L.'s house at 7 PM. Sarah A. will be demonstrating how to make rolls. There will be samples of course so if you have a great jam recipe that you'd like to share, bring it along but don't feel obligated to bring anything! Just come! Besides, Thanksgiving is around the corner and you have to have homemade rolls for Thanksgiving. (I personally am not very thankful for store bought rolls.)

Cooking Group
If you liked it before, you'll love it now! Cooking group from now on will include learning how to make something. You are not required to bring any food--not that you were before, I just want to stress that. If we have a cooking group on bread making for instance, you can just come learn more about bread making, or if you feel you have experience in bread making and you'd like to contribute you can bring examples or something to eat with it. Whatever. Although these lessons will be taught by a specific person it is meant to be a cumulative learning so come contribute! I hope that makes sense.... Our next Cooking Group will be on Wednesday, November 4 at 7 PM at Tara L.'s house. More info to come.

Okay, now that I have your attention Cooking Group this week will be at Donna G.'s at 7 PM and the theme is chocolate! If you live off post and need a pass, you can easily get a one day pass or find a sponsor (Alexis is always willing--thanks!) and get a pass for up to thirty days. Or just ride with someone who has military ID. Remember, Cooking Group is now on Wednesdays.I finally have an excuse to try the chocolate chili recipe a friend gave me four years ago. Sounds scary, I know but now is my chance!

Cooking Group
Sorry ladies but due to the fact that we have no one to host Cooking Group this month we will have to settle for posting our recipes on the blog. Since our playgroup activity this week is blueberry picking, send in those blueberry recipes! You can post them here under comments.
