Super Saturday

The deadline to sign up for Super Saturday is this Sunday, Oct 25. You can see the projects offered on the Super Saturday blog and find prices there too. You need to pay for your projects when you sign up. Invite your friends and neighbors!

Cooking Group

If you liked it before, you'll love it now! Cooking group from now on will include learning how to make something. You are not required to bring any food--not that you were before, I just want to stress that. If we have a cooking group on bread making for instance, you can just come learn more about bread making, or if you feel you have experience in bread making and you'd like to contribute you can bring examples or something to eat with it. Whatever. Although these lessons will be taught by a specific person it is meant to be a cumulative learning so come contribute! I hope that makes sense....

Our next Cooking Group will be on Wednesday, November 4 at 7 PM at Tara L.'s house. More info to come.

How Can I Participate More in RS, You Ask?

After Sister Beck's talk a few weeks ago at the General RS Meeting, there have been a few changes in our Enrichment Groups. For one thing, they are no longer called Enrichment Groups. We will call them what they are. In our ward, you may notice some of these groups coming and going over the next little while as we try to meet the needs of the sisters while following the goals and guidelines spoken of in Sister Beck's talk.

Please share with us your ideas and keep in mind with each group that starts up, it's going to need a leader to keep it running. For instance there is great interest in beginning a sewing or quilting group but we need someone who would be willing to keep it going, host it or find hosts for it, etc.

Please take a minute and vote about the two proposed groups in the poll on the right. Thank you!

Deployed Spouses Group

Due to a lack of availability of the community centers the Deployed Spouses trunk-or-treat has been cancelled...that sounds funny. I don't think it was the spouses themselves that would be begging for treats but you never know. I'd do just about anything for chocolate.

Remember the Ward Halloween party coming up Oct. 30. There will be plenty of treats to be had there!

Remember to add in the cans and oxygen absorbers. We'll be canning at Donna's house on Wednesday and Thursday at noon.

Thank you Donna for making this so convenient for us!!

Did You Miss It?

For those of you who were able to attend the General RS broadcast Saturday, I'm sure you'll agree it was very inspiring. It was great to see so many sisters there. Sister Beck, the General RS President implemented a few changes in the way we'll be doing things. You can listen to this broadcast here.

Well, That Makes it Easy

Donna H. has reserved the canner and pouch sealer from the cannery and she has so graciously invited anyone who wants to build their food storage to come to her house Oct 13 or 14 to use it. Prices are down right now for many items at the cannery so now is the time to do this! If you have never done this before, it is a fun and simple process. Besides the Church cannery has the BEST hot cocoa! (I'm running low so count me in Donna.)

If you have any questions, please contact Donna H.
