Ward Christmas Party

Come one Who, come all to our annual Whonderland of Whobilation! A celebration of the most wonderful occasion in the Whoville calendar, to a Christmas Wholiday Celebration! This year your presence is most important as we are celebrating our 1000th Whobilation! As mayor of Whoville, I strongly decree this is the place on Saturday, December 19th at 5 PM that all Whos shall be!

There will be dinner with roast beast, Who hash, and more! A rumor is had that Santa will be there to see all the good little Who boys and girls!

Christmas pajamas or long striped thigh highs; you will be judged on how Whonderful you arrive! So bring your favorite Who treats and sing with us at the Who Christmas feast!

Sincerely,

The Mayor of Whoville

Relief Society Christmas Party

You won't want to miss this one! Thanks to the generosity of the Robinsons, our RS Christmas Party this year will be held at Thornewood Castle on December 17 at 7 PM. You can find directions here. Please find people to carpool with since there is minimal parking. Bring a white elephant gift--just something from home, no need to buy anything.

First Presidency Christmas Devotional

What a great way to start the season! I love listening to the First Presidency and hearing the beautiful music during the Christmas Devotional. It helps you remember the reason we have Christmas. It will be broadcast online live this Sunday at 6 PM MST--that's 5 PM our time. You can access that here. It will also be broadcast at 7 PM at the church if you'd like to watch it there.

Need to Finish Making Christmas Gifts?

Bring those unfinished projects and we can work on them together! Amy S. will also be teaching us one stroke painting. She's got some cute Christmas patterns so pick up a candle, paper box (you know, the ones from Michael's), wooden tray, or anything else you'd like to paint on and you can go home with a great Christmas gift. This will be at Amy's house on Thursday, December 10 at 7 PM. See you there!

Gingerbread Houses

That's what we're making at our next cooking group on Wednesday, December 2 at 7 PM at Amy's house. My first time making a gingerbread house from scratch I was sure I was going to mess it up but it was much easier than I thought. And to be able to chat with other sisters while decorating your house the way you want is so much fun. The recipe and further info can be found here. If you don't already have a pattern, pick one up for a house or sleigh from me (Heather R.) or Alexis N. We will have a some extras made so if you don't get the chance to bake some gingerbread...and enjoy the delicious aroma in your home while doing so, come anyway! Bring a bag of candy to share...for decorating...but I'm not promising I won't eat any.

Life will be better for you

That is the promise from President Hinckley if you attend the temple and this Saturday there is a great opportunity for that! Our Stake will be meeting at 4:30 in the Instruction Room at the temple (ask any temple worker and they can show you where that is) then we will go through the 5:00 endowment session.

Tis the Season

Deseret Industries is requesting items for Christmas gifts for 10-13 year old boys and girls. Please give your donations--new and unwrapped--to a member of the RS Presidency by November 29.

We've also been asked to provide stocking stuffers for our dedicated missionaries. If you have any of the following items to donate, it would be greatly appreciated...

Stamps/envelopes/stationary, Shaving supplies, Toiletries, Bicycle light, Reflective Armband, Approved Books—i.e. Mormon Doctrine, Photos, Winter wear: hats, gloves, scarves, socks, thermal garments, and/or thermal underwear, Approved Music (please ask a RS Presidency member and we can give you the list), Hot Chocolate Mix, Hot Cider Mix.

Thank you for your generosity.

Gobble Gobble

For those who don't have a husband around this Thanksgiving, you can join the Deployed Spouses Group for a yummy dinner and good company. It will be at the Four Chaplains Memorial Chapel at 2:00 pm. Turkey and rolls will be provided. Please contact Trina if you plan to attend. You can bring your favorite festive food to share and a game or activity for the kids to do.
